Obra Press on spot with vibrant colors and great coffee
It’s Thursday the 29th of June and I’ve headed to Copenhagen to meet with Astrid who owns and runs Obra Press, a Riso Print Studio and Café together with Maria. They started the print studio to give small publishers, artists, designers, photographers, climate organizations and activists a voice and a place to print their material in a sustainable way for limited funds.
I am new to the risoprint world, but soon to discover that the entire riso community is open, friendly and inclusive. Risograph printing is a technique that can be described as a ‘digital screen printing’. The process is similar to screen printing – but with the convenience of a Japanese office copier from the 80’es. I love it!
We talked a lot about time and passion. And that it can be difficult to balance the two concepts. We also had great coffee.
