Bookbinder by heart – and hand

Back in Aarhus. It is the 6th of July, and today I am speaking with Lars, who is a bookbinder and lives very close to me. I met him several years ago because there was this exciting workshop that I passed by when I was walking the dog. I often looked in the windows and one day I went in and said hello. Lars is one of the last real bookbinders in Denmark, he is talented and extremely friendly and has helped me out with several projects that have required finesse and gold foil.

I admire Lars for continuing to participate in international competitions to challenge himself and become even more skilled.

We talked about being an analog person in a digital world, about when craft becomes art and the urge to challenge oneself and to constantly set the bar a little higher.
